About

Chiles is a household name in Albemarle County as the family has been farming and tending to their orchards for over 100 years. Chiswell was built in 1920 and now the entire home is open for guests to enjoy in-house light fare and award winning wines. Each room has an historically themed name and is open for lounging. Their other venues include Chiles Peach Orchard, Carter Mountain Orchard, and Spring Valley Orchard, all of which are family friendly and offer Pick Your Own seasonal fruits. Their in-house menu changes seasonally and always features some Chiles grown goodies. Chiswell welcomes guests 21yrs+ and no outside food is permitted.

What to Bring

– Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted on any of our rides – For the safety of all riders and horses, we do not allow you to bring your own horse – Helmets are available but not required – Closed toed shoes and pants are required – Our guides are are working long before your ride begins and long after it ends. They do their best to provide you with an unbeatable experience. If you had a great time on your ride, please show your appreciation by tipping your guide.
